Clockwork

cw-uuid(1)

NAME

cw-uuid - Clockwork UUID Utility

SYNOPSIS

cw-uuid [--regen]

DESCRIPTION

Clockwork is a system configuration management system designed to securely enforce policies on one or more host systems. It can ensure that files have the prescribed attributes (owner, group, permissions, etc.) and content. It can maintain a specific set of installed packages, and even make sure that system user accounts exist.

To keep systems separate across IP conflicts and naming mishaps, Clockwork generates a Universally Unique IDentifier (or UUID, for short) upon installation. This UUID does not change without administrator intervention.

The value of the UUID is more commonly accessed via the sys.uuid fact.

OPTIONS

--regen

Regenerate the UUID. This should be used with caution, and only by root.
